Ready, set, publish!

Hello There!


My name is Colm Leyne, and I'm the current Chairperson for the Western Canadian Association of Catholic Youth Ministers (we like to go by WCACYM around these parts).


It has been my joy to be involved in WCACYM since 2005 when I first entered into paid youth ministry. I can honestly say the affirming faith, fellowship, and fun times had throughout my involvement in WCACYM have been the biggest blessing in my life. You may be thinking, that's a little bit of a stretch? Well, not for me. As I met my beautiful bride and wife Sharon at WCACYM's Annual Gathering in 2007 at Queen's House of Retreats in Saskatoon. I'm not saying to join to find your spouse... but hey, facts are facts!


If not for the support, training, mentoring, and friendship I have found from WCACYM - I would simply not be where I am today. I currently reside in Saskatoon coordinating the Youth Ministry Office for the Diocese of Saskatoon. But it is the 7 years of community in Youth Ministry that has taught me lessons, shared wisdom, and probably saved me many headaches in ministry!


I welcome you to our new home online. We're hoping wcacym.ca 2.0 to be a more social experience and easy to navigate. We have a blog updated and posted by Core and other members with news updates, sweet videos and resources worthy of sharing, and a portal to connecting you to what you need to succeed in YM in Western Canada.
