What is it?

The Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies consists of 8 courses specially designed for those in ministry with youth in the parish, school, or community settings. It equips leaders with practical tools and techniques needed for creative and comprehensive youth ministry. All courses may be taken for personal enrichment or for credit toward a Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies. 

Which courses are offered in 2018?

We will once again run two concurrent streams at Summer Seminar - one stream for first year students and one stream for second and third year students. 

For students in their first year, the courses that will be offered are:
  • Principles of Youth Ministry
  • Practices of Youth Ministry

For students in their second or third year, the courses that will be offered are:
  • Prayer & Worship
  • Justice & Service
  • Evangelization & Catechesis

How much does it cost?

Each course costs $600, so the total cost is dependent on how many courses you take! 

If you take three courses in a single year, the total cost would be $1800. Remember, the registration price includes meals and lodgings for your entire stay at Queen's House. Discounted rates are available for those who choose not to stay at Queen's House.

Certificate Requirements

The Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies is awarded by the sponsoring institution (WCACYM) and The Center for Ministry Development to students who: 

1. Participate in all 8 courses and attend all classes. 

2. Complete & submit assignments and learning journals for each course. 

3. Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the key components of each course through the assignments.

WCACYM is currently the only host site in Canada to offer the certificate program through the Center for Ministry Development.
